You may not think so, but there is relative peace and if we take it for granted or tear it down, we may lose something we cannot get back.

Thomas Arnold CoeThomas Arnold Coe15 dager siden
  • I think JO is unbelievably naive about policing. You have accept that if the is an active shooter situation, to stop more people being killed , a person has to shoot the active shooter at the risk of killing them, or having fire returned and being killed themselves. If for example, a White supremacist terrorist is killing people, the only way to stop that person killing more people is to shoot them.

  • Still no evidence at all that racism played a part in the death of George Floyd.

    woody1380woody138026 dager siden
    • @woody1380 no I'm suggesting that because Floyd was black and Chauvin is a cop, there's racism involved. And it's not unrelated statistics, you don't seem to know what statistics are. Black people are way more likely to be targeted by cops. And when they are, they are way more likely to be treated badly by the cops. They are way more likely to be the victim of police brutality and way more likely to be shot by cops. Those statistics and exact numbers are easy for you to look up. It is a well known, indisputable fact that the police is a racist institution. You can take your childish "reversed racism" card and stuff it back up where you found it. Instead I would like you to explain why innocent black people are many, many times more likely to be shot by cops than innocent white people, if racism is indeed not part of it.

      Anton BackAnton Back8 dager siden
    • @Anton Back You make no sense at all. You can't use statistics from other situations as evidence in an unrelated case. What you seem to be suggesting is that because Floyd was black and Chauvin is white there must be racism because some white cops are racist. If that's what you believe then perhaps you are being racist yourself. It is quite wrong to judge a person of a certain race based on your previous knowledge of people of the same race and how they behaved.

      woody1380woody13808 dager siden
    • Yeah, there is. The statistics, for one. Not to mention that Floyd's murder was the straw that broke a very tired camel's back, not the thing the protests are about. The protests are about police brutality and systematic racism.

  • As a white looking dude (I don't know who my father is, but I know he's tall and white.), with mental health issues, who is missing 2 teeth due to unwarented police brutality on a false accusation, I'd hate to imagine what would have happened if I inherited my grandmothers skin tone. I literally had my head slammed into a door, after already being cuffed. All of this because I was nervous and stammering after 2 strange men just burst into my bedroom first thing in the morning. Mind you, they were aware I had issues, and brought a local mental health "professional" with them. Though I didn't see him until I was already being led into the wagon, and was raging at being hurt for no reason. Still couldn't tell you what this "professional" sounded like, though I can tell you he looked terrified and was wearing a bullet proof vest. Then, at court, the cop who did it showed up once, noticed I was actually going to defend myself, and managed to be released, even though he added false charges and my first bail ever (i never had a damn parking ticket before this) was literally $10,000. he never showed up, and was never called into court. I was literally losing pieces of teeth in the court house. Im just going to leave it there, it was a whole fucking shit show, that would have been even worse if I looked like my mothers side of the family. Btw, "angry egg with a mustache" man just so happens to look like that cops older brother or something. Kinda weird timing for that part of the video.

    • Oh, and there was a total of 6 officers called to deal with the guy who had no record at all. All of this, because a woman, who was only my roommate mind you, accused me of violence against her. Didnt have a mark on her, even though Im 6'1, and about 240 lbs, but the cops still believed I hit her for some reason, and treated me as if I were guilty.

Sometimes I think that police are just a disease, and screw that that police have too much to do,they are way too idle in most places and a good percentage of cops should be behind bars. • Man... I didn't really plan on it but I ended up back on this video. I've been studying the historic formation of American law enforcement and it's always tough. The roots are corrupt as they come, and although change has seemingly made the aim clearer the shooters can be blinded. Cops have a "buddy" system when unionized and I know from personal experience what they can and do get away with. I'm Minnesotan and we don't really get our name in the national headlines alot. I know what some of these cops are like. I know the area Floyd was needlessly murdered basically.... I know that even being the sketchball I've been, he lost out because we look different... Because a cop won't tackle me or have his hand on his gun when pulling me over. I wish we could all do better as brothers and sisters. I wish people got to know each other better before making brash moves. I seriously don't mean to demonize cops. I know cops. I know cops who have done things they would bust someone for if they happened to have their uniform on and the roles were reversed. I just dream for the harshness to end. We need to at least admit that brute force and intimidation is utilized in more excess than necessary. Never forget that the weapons and stature can make you as much of a bully as a hero. A hero doesn't need to choke you to death to do his job.

More white people get killed by police annually than any other race by a unbelievable margin, but we dont hear shit about that. That being said, the police are out of control. They constantly practice with their firearms and love getting in their military gear so they can act like a real soldier as they raid local homes for dime bags like a bunch of assholes. My local police are called SWAT like they are some kinda badass force. Really if your gonna kick in doors to family residences at 3am on a Tuesday night, I would argue all you need is mace and a taser 99.9% of the time. Non leathel weapons if any at all would do fine.
